What is Proactive Strategy?

In the proactive strategy, the routing information is transmitted proactively at regular intervals across all the nodes to maintain the accuracy and correctness of the routing table. eg. LEACH protocol.

A proactive routing strategy is also known as table-driven strategy.

Both Flat and Hierarchical network structures are supported.

A flat routing strategy can calculate the optimal path for sensor network communication. But it is not suitable for a network that is placed in a dynamically changing environment.

Hierarchical routing can be used for a large ad-hoc network.

In a Proactive strategy, the delay before sending a packet is minimal because it maintains all information by collecting it periodically
