The Electricity Authority is letting everyone know about the upcoming cooperative elections in Nagpur City.

The Office of the Cooperative Election Authority, operating under the Union Minister of Cooperation, has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming elections of the Nagpur City Multi-State Cooperative Credit Society. These crucial elections will take place on March 16, 2025.

In a significant move to ensure a fair and organized election process, the Election Authority has designated the District Collector of Nagpur as the Returning Officer. This officer will be responsible for overseeing the election proceedings and ensuring that all regulations are followed.

According to the official election timeline, the final list of eligible members of the credit society is scheduled to be released on the 27th of February, 2025. Following this, candidates who wish to contest in the elections will have the opportunity to file their nomination papers during the designated period from the 28th of February to the 4th of March, 2025.

Once the nominations are submitted, the final list of candidates will be publicly disclosed on the 4th of March, 2025. The subsequent scrutiny of these nominations to ensure their validity and compliance with the required standards will take place on the 7th of March, 2025. Any candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations will have until the 10th of March, 2025, to do so.

The actual voting will occur on the 16th of March, 2025, with the counting of the votes planned for the following day, the 17th of March, 2025. The official results will be announced on the 20th of March, 2025, after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Cooperative Election Authority.

In addition, the elections to appoint the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the society will follow on the 27th of March, 2025.

The governing board of the credit society is composed of seven elected directors, representing a wide-reaching area of operation that encompasses the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. This society has emerged as one of the fastest-growing credit cooperatives in the Nagpur region, largely due to the leadership and vision of its current Chairman, Jitendra Wasnik, who has been tirelessly working to elevate the society's standards and reach new milestones in its development.
