Several Indian stocks are likely to remain in focus on September 25 after company-specific announcements and regulatory developments emerged a day earlier. PB Fintech, Inox Green Energy Services, Dr Lal PathLabs and JSW Cement are among the companies drawing attention, with developments ranging from proposed insurance rules and fundraising to acquisitions and tax notices.
The developments come after a sharp sell-off in the broader market on September 24. The Nifty 50 fell 1.64% to close at 25,169.50, while the Sensex declined 1.67% to 73,580.
PB Fintech faces regulatory overhang
PB Fintech is likely to be one of the closely watched counters after its shares fell sharply on September 24 following proposed changes by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) concerning insurance distribution.
The proposed framework includes changes to commission arrangements for insurance products. PB Fintech reportedly indicated that the changes could have a significant effect on revenue from its general insurance business, while also raising concerns around agent commissions and hiring.
The regulatory proposal therefore becomes an important factor for investors assessing the insurance-distribution business and its earnings model.
Inox Green starts QIP
Inox Green Energy Services has entered the market to raise capital through a qualified institutional placement (QIP).
The company set a floor price of ₹174.36 per share for the issue, with the option of offering a discount of up to 5% to the floor price, according to reports. The fundraising will allow the renewable-energy company to seek capital from institutional investors.
A QIP is a fundraising mechanism through which a listed company issues securities to qualified institutional buyers. The pricing and eventual size of the issue can therefore be important factors for existing shareholders as they assess potential dilution and the company's capital plans.
Dr Lal PathLabs expands into genomics
Dr Lal PathLabs has approved the acquisition of a 70% stake in SN Genelab Private Limited, a company operating in genomic diagnostics.
The transaction involves a cash consideration of up to ₹168 crore, with an additional earn-out of as much as ₹31.5 crore depending on performance. SN Gene will become a subsidiary of Dr Lal PathLabs after completion of the transaction.
The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Dr Lal PathLabs' capabilities in genomics and expanding its advanced diagnostics portfolio. SN Gene reported turnover of ₹57.96 crore in FY26, compared with ₹53.36 crore in FY25 and ₹43.27 crore in FY24.
| Company | Development | Key figure |
|---|---|---|
| Inox Green Energy Services | QIP launched | ₹174.36/share floor price |
| Dr Lal PathLabs | 70% stake acquisition in SN Gene | Up to ₹168 crore |
| Dr Lal PathLabs | Potential earn-out | Up to ₹31.5 crore |
| JSW Cement | GST show-cause notice | ₹229.85 crore |
| Bharat Dynamics | Defence contract | ₹810.79 crore |
JSW Cement draws attention after GST notice
JSW Cement is also on the market's radar after receiving a show-cause notice from the Central Tax department.
The notice involves a proposed GST demand of ₹229.85 crore, along with applicable interest and a proposed 10% penalty, according to reports. The matter relates to an audit by the Belagavi Commissionerate.
The development comes as analysts continue to assess the company's expansion plans and operating performance. Motilal Oswal recently upgraded JSW Cement's rating from Neutral to Buy while retaining a ₹146 target, citing volume growth and cost efficiencies. That brokerage view is an analyst assessment rather than a guarantee of future stock performance.
Bharat Dynamics, Sterlite Technologies also in focus
Bharat Dynamics has signed an ₹810.79 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of SAT-SAAW and associated equipment to the Indian Air Force. The order could therefore keep the defence company on traders' radar during Friday's session.
Sterlite Technologies is another company with a fresh business update. It has expanded its Neuralis data-centre portfolio with pre-terminated fibre trunk assemblies offering configurations ranging from 48 fibres to 6,912 fibres. The products are designed for data-centre connectivity requirements.
A stock-specific session after broad market weakness
The September 25 watchlist comes against a backdrop of heightened market volatility. With the benchmark indices falling sharply on September 24, company-specific announcements could draw greater attention as investors distinguish between regulatory developments, capital raising, acquisitions, order wins and operational updates.
For traders and investors, the developments do not by themselves indicate how individual stocks will perform. Their significance will depend on how the market assesses the financial and operational implications of each announcement during trading.
